Spinning Cotton Candy

That my mates is what it feels like when you spin bamboo. The fibers are long–really long. And it sticks to EVERYTHING. But it’s so much fun! And Henry doesn’t eat it like he does the wool. He didn’t bat a paw at it.

I spun the majority of the bamboo into a single, then I took a small section of the roving and spun two other singles and attempted to ply them together. I think it turned out pretty well.

Here is a picture of the bamboo single. It’s roughly 17 yds  total in length. There is definitely a difference in how bamboo spins up when all I have been spinning is wool. It will take some getting used to. I however think I am up for the challange.

I still have to set the twist. I am curious what will happen when I do. I think I am going to be making flowers out of this little skein.  Now I need to order more fiber. There are so many choices….this is going to be hard.
